To Kill a
MOCKINGBIRD
By Harper Lee
Adapted by Christopher Sergel
Directed by Nancy Holley
Christopher Sergel’s
adaptation of Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird is a sensitive yet
direct examination of racial and class distinctions in the South during The
Great Depression. Nearly eighty years later the concerns are familiar, even
though the innocence of the children is reminiscent of a bygone era. Jean
Louise, an adult Scout, recalls events as riveting as they were harrowing. A
timeless classic, To Kill a Mockingbird, includes warmth and humor
while dealing with serious issues of morality and responsibility.
Performance dates:
June 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, July 1, 6, 7 & 8,
