John Steinbeck's

Of Mice & Men

Directed by Richard Morrill

John Steinbeck's own stage version of his classic novel tells the story of George and Lenny, the fast-talking farm hand and the simple giant who accompanies him on a life of casual labor in the California Agricultural Belt of the 1930's. They share a dream of a little place of their own, where Lenny can tend the rabbits and they can live off the fat of the land. But when Lenny unwittingly creates a dramatic situation with the young wife of a farm owner's son, George must shatter their dreams to keep Lenny from falling into the hands of the law and the vigilante farmhands bent on revenge.

An incessantly ringing cell phone in a quiet café. A stranger at the next table who has had enough. And a dead man—with a lot of loose ends. So begins Dead Man’s Cell Phone, a wildly imaginative new comedy about how we memorialize the dead—and how that remembering changes us. Contains adult language and content.

& April 1, 2012

All is not well in the Humble hive. Felix Humble returns home after the sudden death of his father, James, an amateur beekeeper. He returns to the "hive" and his demanding mother, Flora, a glamorous former showgirl. Mother and son attempt to reconcile themselves to James' death and to each other. The emotional turmoil increases with the arrival of George, Flora's longtime lover, and his daughter Rosie, Felix's former girlfriend! It is a play imbued with heartbreak and wit. The London Sunday Times call Humble Boy "a serious moving cerebral feast."

To Kill a MOCKINGBIRD

By Harper Lee
Adapted by Christopher Sergel
Directed by Nancy Holley

Christopher Sergel’s adaptation of Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird is a sensitive yet direct examination of racial and class distinctions in the South during The Great Depression. Nearly eighty years later the concerns are familiar, even though the innocence of the children is reminiscent of a bygone era.  Jean Louise, an adult Scout, recalls events as riveting as they were harrowing. A timeless classic, To Kill a Mockingbird, includes warmth and humor while dealing with serious issues of morality and responsibility.

Performance dates: June 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, July 1, 6, 7 & 8, 2012
